Alginet Bread

Ingredients:

  • 1 loaf of country-style bread, sliced thickly
  • 2 oranges
  • Orange blossom honey
  • Candied orange peels

Instructions:

  1. Lightly toast the slices of bread until they are golden and crispy on the outside but still soft inside.

  2. Cut an orange in half and gently rub the bread slices with the cut side of the orange. This will infuse the bread with a subtle citrus flavor.

  3. Once the bread slices are lightly infused with orange juice, spread a very small drizzle of orange blossom honey over each piece of bread.

  4. For the candied orange peels: Peel the oranges carefully and cut the peel into very small pieces. Place the orange peel pieces in a skillet with a little water and sugar. Cook over low heat until the peel is well candied and tender.

  5. To serve, arrange the bread slices with orange blossom honey on a plate. Garnish each piece of bread with a sprinkle of candied orange peels, distributing them evenly on top.

  6. Enjoy the Alginet Bread as an appetizer or as a side dish to a main course. This unique combination of citrus and sweet flavors will delight your senses. Bon profit!
